A stretch of I-77 near Woodlawn Road in Charlotte was the scene of a fatal car accident.
The crash occurred early Monday morning after a tractor-trailer flipped over, setting in motion a chain of accidents. According to police, six different vehicles were involved.
First responders arrived at the scene to find one victim dead; another person was severely injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Northbound Lane was shut down for hours as road crews worked to clear the area of debris.
It is unclear what caused the crash, and it remains under investigation.
”I think God saved my life,” said Rostislav Kazmirets, who was involved in the crash.
